North West, the eldest child of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, is now 12 years old, and her recent appearance has sparked renewed discussion about Kim’s parenting style.
North was recently back in the spotlight after attending Coachella, where her appearance quickly drew attention online.
The 12-year-old was seen wearing a goth-inspired outfit, featuring a graphic T-shirt, shorts, chunky accessories, and oversized platform boots. She also stood out with a bright blue wig, making her look distinct even in the festival crowd.
On April 10, she attended the first day of Coachella in Indio, California, alongside members of her family, including Kourtney Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Kendall Jenner.
However, it wasn’t just her outfit that sparked conversation.
A clip shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user Matt Wallace went viral, focusing on North walking beside Kim. The video prompted viewers to comment on her gait, with some suggesting her knees appeared to turn inward or “lock” as she walked.
The post sparked widespread discussion online, with some users leaving harsh comments.
One person wrote, “Her feet are going North and West…”
Another added, “Uhhh she’s just a chubby kid. That’s the fat gait.”
However, many others pushed back against the criticism, calling it inappropriate. One user said, “She’s a kid… maybe let’s not overanalyze or speculate about her like this.” Another wrote, “Jesus Christ she’s a kid?? Are you okay? F***ing weirdos.”
Some also offered more neutral explanations, with one suggesting, “Poorly fitting shoes.”
Others joined the debate, with comments such as: “People acting like they’ve never seen a kid walk funny during puberty growth spurts. It’s knock-knees, not a conspiracy. Most of us had it or knew someone who did. By 15 she’ll probably strut better than half of Hollywood.”
This isn’t the first time North West has gone viral over her appearance. In the past, she has faced online scrutiny, which has also drawn criticism toward Kim Kardashian and her parenting.
Earlier in March, she appeared in a video showing off a bold manicure featuring long nails, spikes, and piercing-style details.
North has also responded to online attention herself in a video, saying, “Why are you crying? How old are you? Just pull it together.”
Her mother has addressed the discussion as well, describing North as “really confident” and explaining that while she does have rules, she allows her daughter freedom to explore fashion.
