What Kamala Harris revealed about a potential 2028 White House run after Trump’s loss

Former Vice President Kamala Harris has said she is keeping the possibility of another presidential run open.

Speaking at the National Action Network on Friday, Harris said she is “thinking about” entering the 2028 presidential race, according to reports from UNILAD.

“I might, I might. I’m thinking about it,” she said. “I served for four years being a heartbeat away from the presidency of the United States … I know what the job is and I know what it requires.”

Her 2024 presidential campaign ultimately ended in a loss to Donald Trump. While Trump has also suggested the possibility of running again, the U.S. Constitution’s 22nd Amendment limits presidents to two terms in office.

Harris has reportedly spent the past year traveling across the country, including extended visits in the South, saying these experiences have influenced her perspective.

“I’ve been traveling the country the last year, spending a lot of time in the South and many other places, and the one thing I’m really clear about is … the status quo is not working and hasn’t been working for a lot of people for a long time,” she said.

She added: “It’s got to be about the American people and that’s how I think of it. I am thinking about it in the context of … who and where and how can the best job be done for the American people. I’ll keep you posted.”

Her remarks also followed recent statements on international tensions, including the Iran conflict. In a post on X, she said she opposed “a regime-change war in Iran,” warning that U.S. military involvement posed serious risks to stability and American lives.

She described such actions as “a dangerous and unnecessary gamble,” arguing they weaken global standing and regional security.
