Donald Trump has been a father for many years. He has four children with three different women, with Barron Trump being his youngest at 19 years old. Barron Trump’s childhood was one of luxury. Born in 2006, the year after his parents’ wedding, he had his own floor in Trump Tower where he was allowed to paint on the walls and was given nearly anything he pointed at. Still, his mother Melania, who grew up in a working‑class family, wanted to give him something more grounded as well.
In her memoir, Melania described a “chaotic” scene in her home office when Barron was young — books scattered across the floor and her son sitting in a toy car. In a Fox interview, she explained that it was important for her to show Barron what an ordinary workday looked like.
“I think it’s very important that we show our children that we are working too. To give them an example of how life is,” she said. “That they see us, that we are productive, that we have ideas, that ideas come to life. And that’s how I was showing Barron.”
Donald Trump had been married twice before tying the knot with Melania in 2005. His marriage to Ivana Trump lasted from 1977 to 1990, and his second marriage to Marla Maples lasted five years.
With Ivana, he welcomed three children — Ivanka, Donald Jr., and Eric — and with Marla Maples, one daughter, Tiffany. Barron is the youngest of Donald’s children, but if Donald had his way, the family might have grown even more.
How Donald Trump reacted when Melania told him she was pregnant with Barron
Speaking with Fox & Friends last year, Melania revealed that Donald wanted more children after Barron was born, while she felt one was enough.
“I was always perfectly fine with one. And Donald was encouraging us to have more,” Melania recalled. “And I said, ‘I’m completely fine with one because it’s a very busy life.’”
Barron is Melania’s first and only child. One can imagine her excitement when she learned she was expecting — and naturally, she wanted to tell Donald right away. She received the news about six months after their wedding, but Donald’s reaction wasn’t what she anticipated.
Speaking to People, the Slovenian‑born model said Donald was a bit stunned when she told him she was pregnant.
“He came home and I told him he’d be a daddy. And his reaction was… at first he needed to take it in. It was a real surprise. And then he was very happy,” she said at the time.
Donald added, “I expected we were going to have children, so I wasn’t totally surprised. But I was surprised by the speed of it. It happened very quickly.”
