Amid all the Oscars buzz, a glamorous Hollywood wedding has also captured the spotlight — and not just because a celebrity child tied the knot.
When Chaz Bono, the son of music icon Cher, married longtime partner Shara Blue Mathes on March 8, 2026, the ceremony looked straight out of a movie. Held at the iconic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, the event featured a “Hollywood Glam Formal” theme — with stunning details from start to finish.
But when photos from the big day hit social media on March 15, fans quickly became fixated on one unexpected detail.
For Chaz, 57, the wedding marked the culmination of a relationship that began more than 40 years ago. He and Shara first met as teenagers at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. Life took them in different directions, but they eventually reconnected and made their relationship official in 2017.
Reflecting on their journey, Chaz shared:
“I first met Shara more than 40 years ago when we were just teenagers. I think it’s safe to say that not many grooms end up marrying the very first girl they ever kissed so many years later.”
