As tensions rise between the United States and Iran, many Americans are calling for the president’s youngest son, 19-year-old Barron Trump, to serve in the military.

The campaign gained so much traction that the hashtag #SendBarron began trending on social media. People taking part in the trend wanted Barron to show the same level of patriotism expected from other young Americans during times of conflict.

One person posted on X, “Why not demonstrate that Trump family spirit of patriotism and sacrifice by sending Barron to fight Iran?” while another added, “At least someone from the Trump family should demonstrate how patriotic they are by serving instead of grifting.”

Now, an old video of President Donald Trump has resurfaced in which he talks about his youngest child’s interest in technology. In the interview from last year, he said, “He can look at a computer… I turn off his laptop, I say, ‘Oh good,’ and I go back about five minutes later, he’s got his laptop. I say, ‘How do you do that?’”

“He’s got an unbelievable aptitude for technology,” he added about his teenage son.

What was meant to be praise for his son’s technological ability soon turned into a funny clip, with netizens making jokes about the situation.

One person wrote on X, “This is exactly how my grandma looks at me when I fix the TV by switching the input.” Another added, “He basically said ‘he knows how to switch his laptop on.’ I’d hope so — he’s a twenty-something-year-old in the 21st century.”

Another person hilariously added, “This is how my dad reacts when I turn on Netflix for him.”

“He’s mastered light switches and doorknobs as well,” another wrote.

While people on social media are rallying to get Barron Trump enlisted in the army, it seems the 19-year-old might not qualify anyway. The reason is that he is 6 feet 9 inches tall, which is too tall for most roles in the military. He would be unable to take on roles such as working with tanks, armored vehicles, and aircraft.

The current limit for joining the Army is a maximum of 6 feet 8 inches for certain roles.
