A lip reader has revealed what Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, said to his half-sister, Ivanka Trump, during the president’s State of the Union address.
On February 24, 2026, Donald Trump delivered the longest State of the Union speech in U.S. history, lasting 1 hour and 48 minutes. He praised the economy, criticized Democrats, and briefly discussed foreign affairs.
He also touched on religion: “I’m very proud to say that during my time in office, both the first four years, and particularly this last year, there has been a tremendous renewal in religion, faith, Christianity, and belief in God,” Trump said at one point.
Donald Trump’s remark about Melania during the State of the Union address
Members of his family attended the event, including his wife, Melania Trump. He also took a moment to highlight his wife and her popularity.
“Nobody cares more about protecting America’s youth than our first lady — she’s now a movie star, can you believe it? Who would’ve believed that?” Trump said. “Over the past year she’s had an incredible impact, implementing AI legislation, advancing a landmark executive order on foster care, and securing $30 million to launch the Melania Trump foster youth to independence initiative. It’s tremendous.”
He jokingly added: “It’s a really tremendous thing that happened and she got a lot of bipartisan support. She gets much better bipartisan support than I do. I get none, she gets a lot. Someday you’re going to have to tell me how you did that!”
Barron and Ivanka Trump
Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and 19-year-old Barron Trump were also present to support their father during his address.
It was Barron’s first public appearance since Donald Trump’s inauguration. During his father’s speech, Barron was seen exchanging a few words with Ivanka. Now, lip reader Jeremy Freeman claims to reveal what was said between them.
Freeman told the Mirror that Ivanka turned to her brother and asked: “What are you doing on…?” but he was unable to interpret the final word. In response, Barron reportedly said: “I’m not sure, I couldn’t be a***d.”
Exactly what Ivanka Trump asked Barron, and the topic of their exchange, remains unclear.
