In a video of the couple on the red carpet, Sánchez glances toward her husband in an attempt to catch his attention, but he stays focused on the cameras flashing in front of him. When he doesn’t respond, Sánchez eventually looks away as well.
One person wrote, “Anyone who understands human psychology knows this is the look a woman gives a man when divorce is imminent.” The post drew a flood of reactions on X, with many people agreeing.
Another user added, “…In relationship psychology, contempt is the ‘sulfuric acid’ of intimacy; once it enters the dynamic, the foundation is already gone…” Someone else wrote, “…his gaze doesn’t speak…it screams…. She reacts…”
Others felt the moment was being overanalyzed, writing, “To me she just looks disappointed Bezos didn’t exchange glances back at her when she placed her hand on his shoulder.” Another commented, “Wait… there’s a divorce look? I thought there was only the ‘I love you, but you’re annoying’ look.”
A body language expert also weighed in. Judi James told a media outlet, “Context is important though, and rather than a scathing glance, Lauren’s expression here looks more like one of minor disappointment as her flirt signals don’t immediately get met with a complimentary response.”
