JD Vance branded a “sick f**k” after tweet about Alex Pretti ICE shooting

Several Trump administration officials have defended the ICE agent or criticized 37‑year‑old Alex Pretti after he was killed Saturday. Now, Vice President JD Vance is facing intense backlash online after a controversial tweet, with some calling him a “sick f**k.”

At approximately 9:05 a.m. on Saturday, near Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis, 37‑year‑old Alex Pretti was shot and killed by an ICE agent. The fatal shooting occurred as agents carried out an enforcement operation in the area, and the reactions since have been furious.

Video footage from the scene showed Pretti filming the agents with his phone before being pepper‑sprayed, tackled, and then shot. The government claims he was armed, but no proof has yet been presented to the public.

Several Trump administration officials quickly defended the ICE agent. White House senior adviser Stephen Miller called Pretti an “assassin,” while others labeled him a “domestic terrorist.” Now, JD Vance is under fire for one particular comment. After the shooting, Vance posted on X about his recent trip to Minneapolis — but instead of addressing what happened to Pretti, he shared a story about federal agents being “doxed” at a restaurant.

JD Vance branded a “disgrace” for ICE shooting tweet

Vance went on to claim that local authorities were creating “chaos” by refusing to assist immigration enforcement, suggesting this chaos contributed to the city’s violence.

“When I was in Minneapolis, I heard a number of crazy stories. But near the top of the list: A couple of off‑duty ICE and CBP officers were going to dinner in Minneapolis. They were doxed and their location revealed, and the restaurant was then mobbed,” Vance wrote.

“The officers were locked in the restaurant, and local police refused to respond to their pleas for help (as they’ve been directed by local authorities). Eventually, their fellow federal agents came to their aid. This is just a taste of what’s happening in Minneapolis because state and local officials refuse to cooperate with immigration enforcement.”

He continued, “They have created the chaos so they can have moments like yesterday, where someone tragically dies, and politicians get to grandstand about the evils of enforcing the border. The solution is staring everyone in the face. I hope authorities in Minneapolis stop this madness.”

“Reprehensible vile liar”

Many people reacted with shock and anger to Vance’s remarks. One social media user wrote that Vance seemed more concerned about federal agents’ dinner plans than about a nurse being “executed” in the street.

“You’re supposed to be the VP for ALL Americans. Not just the Republicans. You are a disgrace,” one user wrote.

“What a liar you are. Gross,” another added.

A third wrote, “Another story you made up, you reprehensible vile liar,” while a fourth said, “We don’t believe another word of your lying mouth.”

Another person added, “The craziest story I heard was when two of your ICE agents unloaded 10 bullets into a VA nurse for no reason. You sick f*ck.”

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio‑Cortez wrote: “You are defending the open killing of everyday Americans for exercising their Constitutional rights.”
