Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Second Lady Usha Vance, have three children. Now, they have announced they are expecting their fourth child. Shockingly, not everyone is happy for the couple.
JD Vance and Usha met in college and have been together ever since. They are now husband and wife and have welcomed three children. Over the years, they’ve made a point of respecting their family’s privacy, choosing to keep their children out of the spotlight.
JD and Usha Vance became parents for the first time in June 2017 when their son, Ewan, was born. Just weeks before his birth, the couple sat down with NBC and revealed that they learned the gender of their first child very early on.
“We found out right away because JD, there was no way he could wait,” Usha said.
Her husband added, “I wanted to know at, like, nine weeks, but apparently that’s not physically possible.”

In February 2020, the Vances welcomed their second son, Vivek, and in December 2021, they welcomed their third child. JD and Usha announced the birth of their daughter, Mirabel, on Instagram, calling her an “early Christmas present.”

Shortly before being named Donald Trump’s pick for vice president, JD shared his feelings about parenthood.
“I love being a dad and Usha loves being a mom, and I think we love doing that together. And that’s not going to change, whether Trump picks me to be vice president or not,” he told Fox.
His wife added, “There are a lot of things that we just agree on, especially when it comes to family life and how to raise our kids. And so I think the answer really is we just talk a lot.”
Although JD and Usha Vance have chosen to keep their children mostly out of public view, they have made occasional appearances. All three children were present when their father was sworn in as Vice President of the United States.

Now, they will soon welcome another sibling. On Tuesday, Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance announced they are expecting their fourth child. The news comes after JD Vance has passionately encouraged Americans to have more children.
Expecting their fourth child
“We’re very excited to share the news that Usha is pregnant with our fourth child, a boy,” the couple wrote in an Instagram post. “Usha and the baby are doing well, and we are all looking forward to welcoming him in late July.”
“During this exciting and hectic time, we are particularly grateful for the military doctors who take excellent care of our family and for the staff members who do so much to ensure that we can serve the country while enjoying a wonderful life with our children,” the post continued.
While many people congratulated the couple on their fourth baby, not everyone wished them well. The announcement aired on several television networks, including ABC, where David Muir reported the news.
Afterward, the official ABC World News Tonight Instagram account shared the update.
One person wrote, “Congratulations on Vice President Vance’s growing family…”

“Congratulations to you and your family,” another added, while a third commented, “God bless them! Congrats!”
A fourth wrote, “Such a happy family.”
But others criticized the father of three.
One social media user posted a GIF of President Trump shaking his head and added, “Nobody cares.”
Another shared a GIF of Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, writing, “Stop.”
One asked, “How’s Erika handling the news?” referencing social media rumors about JD Vance and Erika Kirk possibly having an affair.
Another user said, “I feel sorry for all those kids,” while a fourth wrote, “Just what the world needs.”
