Donald Trump is facing backlash after a Truth Social post about the ongoing conflict with Iran drew attention for both its content and a series of awkward mistakes.
Tensions in the Middle East, following joint U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran that began in February, continue to rise. In a social media post, Trump claimed the two countries had held “very good and productive conversations” over the past few days, according to UNILAD.
He also said he had instructed the “Department of War”—a name he used instead of the Department of Defense—to delay planned U.S. strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for five days, depending on the outcome of ongoing discussions.
The reactions to his post, however, were less focused on the conflict itself and more on his wording.

Online users quickly pointed out multiple spelling and grammatical errors in the original version, including “witch” instead of “which” and “I am please to report” instead of “pleased.”
According to UNILAD, one user wrote: “Look at all of the grammatical and spelling errors. This was RUSHED in PANIC.”
Another commented: “Trump’s making insane spelling mistakes in his latest post. Totally embarrassing.”
A third person added: “A lot of spelling errors in that post by Trump… God forbid if his Twitter is hacked someday.”
The post was deleted
The original post, written entirely in capital letters, was later deleted and replaced with a corrected version. By then, however, screenshots had already begun circulating online.
In the updated post, Trump wrote:
“I AM PLEASED TO REPORT THAT THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND THE COUNTRY OF IRAN, HAVE HAD, OVER THE LAST TWO DAYS, VERY GOOD AND PRODUCTIVE CONVERSATIONS REGARDING A COMPLETE AND TOTAL RESOLUTION OF OUR HOSTILITIES IN THE MIDDLE EAST.
“BASED ON THE TENOR AND TONE OF THESE IN-DEPTH, DETAILED, AND CONSTRUCTIVE CONVERSATIONS, WHICH WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE WEEK, I HAVE INSTRUCTED THE DEPARTMENT OF WAR TO POSTPONE ANY AND ALL MILITARY STRIKES AGAINST IRANIAN POWER PLANTS AND ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE FOR A FIVE-DAY PERIOD, SUBJECT TO THE SUCCESS OF THE ONGOING MEETINGS AND DISCUSSIONS.”
He signed off: “THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!”
