Michael Jackson’s children have yet to receive their full share of his estimated $2 billion estate—and there’s a clear reason why.
Few artists have matched the global impact and enduring legacy of Michael Jackson, whose music continues to resonate across generations.
After his death in 2009, he left behind three children—Paris Jackson, Prince Jackson, and Bigi Jackson. Yet even 17 years later, they have not received their full inheritance.
According to reports, the estate is overseen by co-executors John Branca and John McClain. Their management has come under scrutiny, particularly from Paris, who has filed a lawsuit accusing them of financial mismanagement, including alleged irregular payments and claims of “skimming” funds from the estate.
The legal battle recently faced a setback when a judge granted a request from the co-executors to strike parts of Paris’s case. Despite this, she remains committed to pursuing the matter. Her legal team told Entertainment Weekly that the ruling addressed only minor procedural issues and did not alter the core concerns about the executors’ conduct.
Court filings further emphasize her stance, arguing that the prolonged litigation is unnecessary and emotionally taxing. As cited by The Independent, the documents state that the case has become a burden on Paris’s personal life and career, and that she would prefer to avoid public attention altogether.
She has also accused the executors of using estate funds to fight against her claims, calling the situation both unfair and offensive.
Despite the ongoing dispute, the children do receive financial support through estate distributions. However, a major unresolved tax issue continues to delay the full payout. Until the exact tax obligations are determined and settled, the final division of the estate remains on hold.
