Donald Trump’s war in Iran has left the U.S. divided. Now, a new opinion poll reveals what Americans really think about the president following the military strikes.
The strikes in Iran by the U.S. and Israel have split the country. From the moment the military action began a little more than a week ago, even some of Donald Trump’s most loyal supporters have turned against the decision.
Tucker Carlson called the attack “absolutely disgusting and evil,” suggesting it would have a major impact on Trump supporters and the president’s political movement.
“This is going to shuffle the deck in a profound way,” Carlson said.
Popular pro‑Trump podcaster Tim Pool also criticized the administration’s decision. Meanwhile, MAGA influencer brothers Keith and Kevin Hodge wrote in an online post, “Freeing the people of Iran is not why I voted for Trump.”
They added, “President Trump has completely LIED to his voters, backstabbed our country and has disgraced his legacy beyond repair at this point, biggest fall from grace I have ever seen.”
What Americans think about putting troops on the ground in Iran
Several members of Congress and the Senate, mostly Democrats, have spoken out against the Trump administration’s decision to move into Iran.
While the president has said he believes the war is close to ending, he also stated on Monday that he is undecided about sending U.S. ground troops to secure the stockpile of highly enriched uranium.
“We haven’t made any decision on that. We’re nowhere near it,” Donald Trump told the NY Post.
According to a new survey, Americans do not want troops deployed on the ground in Iran. Per The Hill, a new poll shows that 74% of Americans oppose sending U.S. ground troops into Iran, with only 20% supporting the idea.
The results indicate that a strong majority of Americans are concerned about U.S. soldiers fighting on the ground in Iran. The poll was released as the conflict continues to dominate political discussions in Washington.
Some lawmakers believe stronger military action may be necessary, while others warn that sending troops could lead to a much larger war. For many Americans, the idea of deploying troops overseas brings back memories of past Middle Eastern conflicts.

Meanwhile, the midterms in November will be crucial for President Trump. So what do people really think of him now that he has entered Iran?
New poll shows what Americans really think of Donald Trump amid Iran conflict
A Fox News poll asked voters how they think Donald Trump is performing as president so far. Respondents were asked about several key issues, including immigration, foreign policy, the economy, and tariffs. The results show Americans remain divided over Trump’s performance.
Ninety‑seven percent of Democrats said they disapproved of Trump’s performance, while Republican voters gave him an 87% approval rating.
Voters were split on immigration. About 60% disapprove of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), while 42% approve of the agency’s work.
When asked about the most important issue in the country, half of respondents (50%) said the cost of living was their top concern. Government spending followed at 18%, and jobs at 10%.
Other issues mattered to smaller groups: income inequality was mentioned by 9%, tariffs by 8%, and about 4% said taxes were their biggest concern.
Meanwhile, Trump performed better on border security, with 52% of voters approving of his handling of the issue, while 48% disapproved.
“Much tougher media coverage,” says the White House
White House spokesperson Davis Ingle commented on the poll, saying: “Based on the RealClearPolitics average, President Trump has a higher approval rating than former presidents Obama and Bush had at this point in their second terms, even with much tougher media coverage.”
For comparison, Barack Obama and George W. Bush had approval ratings of 42.5% and 38.7%, respectively, at a similar point in their second terms, while Trump stands at 43.3%.
