Hero Amazon driver rescues woman from husband who was allegedly trying to kill her with a hammer.

An Amazon delivery driver has been praised for heroically intervening and helping save a woman’s life after he allegedly discovered she was being attacked by her husband with a hammer.

What began as a routine package drop-off in Wyoming, Minnesota on May 11 quickly turned into a life-threatening emergency.

As the driver arrived at the home, he reportedly heard a woman screaming from inside. According to Chisago County court documents cited by KSTP, he immediately sensed something was wrong and decided to investigate.

When he approached the house, he allegedly saw a blood-covered woman and her 72-year-old husband holding a hammer.

The driver reportedly forced his way inside, ordered the man to drop the weapon, and immediately called 911. Emergency responders later arrived and described the victim’s injuries as serious.

“The witness’s actions contributed to bringing the situation to an end,” authorities said.

Police allege the suspect struck his wife multiple times in the head with a hammer in an attempt to kill her, leaving indentations in her skull. He has been charged with premeditated attempted first-degree murder and assault.

Investigators say the man admitted to the attack, allegedly linking it to financial stress and claiming he did not want his wife to live on reduced income.

Authorities stated that without the driver’s quick intervention, the outcome could have been fatal. The Wyoming Police Department praised the witness, saying his actions helped end the attack and assist the victim.

“Our thoughts remain with the victim and all those impacted by this incident,” officials added.
