Beginning her transformation journey at the age of 14, Cristerna’s body art is deeply personal and represents her escape from an abusive marriage that lasted a decade.
“Art runs through my veins,” she says, using her body as a canvas for self-expression. Despite being proud of her appearance, Cristerna encourages young people to think carefully before getting tattoos because these modifications are permanent. “You have to love it and defend it your whole life,” she advises.
Cristerna’s modifications include the difficult process of eye pigmentation and painful arm implants, with each element reflecting her journey toward self-love and resilience. While she continues to embrace her unique style and regularly reveals new tattoos, she remains clear about the importance of making thoughtful decisions regarding body modification. Recently, she shared another tattoo in progress, showing her continued dedication to her art.
In an interview with Guinness World Records, she spoke about the importance of self-love, saying, “The only way to escape from violence and abuse is by loving yourself. We came to this world to be happy.”
Despite mixed reactions to her appearance, Cristerna remains focused on self-expression and her goal of covering 100% of her body in tattoos, without concern for the opinions of others. “I know who I am, and that is what is important,” she said confidently.
