Jessie Cave, who played Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter film franchise, announced earlier this year that she would be joining OnlyFans as a creator.

She said she would do it to help pay off her $10,000 debt. “One year. I’ll try for one year. My aim? To get the house safe, cover the arsenic/lead wallpaper, build a new roof, etc.”

“My aim? To get out of debt. My aim? To empower myself? To prove to those in the past who have misjudged me that I’m not so sweet? To put time into something I never invested in before: self-love.”

However, she clarified on her podcast: “I’m launching an OnlyFans, it’s not a sexual one. It’s a fetish. Fetish doesn’t necessarily mean sexual.”

The 38-year-old said she needed money to fix the electrical work in her home and would focus on creating “niche hair content.” She describes herself as an “OnlyFans Long Hair Specialist.”

While she said she would not be producing explicit content, it would also not be entirely PG, noting that some posts may include her in underwear.

Jessie Cave has been a creator on the platform for two months and has already received unusual requests. She revealed that when she checks her messages at night, she “dreads” them.

The former Harry Potter star says many of the messages are “gross” and “nasty,” including some containing explicit images. She said: “It’s gotten a little nasty. I feel a little gross, a little scared. I am receiving too many lurid messages and don’t like being sent unsolicited d***s.”

“No matter how many times I say I am not doing sexual content, I get a message within two seconds asking to see cm in my hair or if I would just please f**ing consider full frontal.”

However, she has refused to do so. She also admits she feels stuck in a “content treadmill” and finds it difficult to step away.

She shared that one subscriber asked for a video of her being spanked with her hair in plaits, and she asked her husband, comedian Alfie Brown, for help with it.

She said gradually moving into sexually suggestive content gives her a sense of “shame,” although she has also become “dependent” on it.

On the other hand, she said that whenever her subscriber count drops, she feels “hurt and upset.”

“It’s proof of my failure to make (or rather, keep hold of) money as an actress and writer. I’ve got nothing to show for 18 years of work in the arts industry. I’ve rented for 18 years and drained all my money on that and self-funding my YouTube videos or Edinburgh shows,” she added.

She hopes fans will purchase items from her wishlist, including a MacBook.

“I am doing OF to supplement my life as an artist, and I will be more vocal about that from now on,” she wrote in one post, adding: “My second most desired item is a fancy ASMR microphone so I can do more satisfying hair brushing videos.”

“Then I’ve put cheaper items like elf ears and stockings (which someone bought for me within 10 minutes of going live).”
