At just 21 years old, Kyle rose to the rank of Lance Corporal in the United States Marines, demonstrating remarkable dedication and bravery. In 2010, he was deployed to Afghanistan, ready to serve his country in a time of conflict.

As a consequence of the subsequent blast, he endured catastrophic wounds. His body was permeated with fragments, and the structure of his skull and face was broken beyond repair. Additionally, he sustained significant damage to his jaw, suffered a collapsed lung, and, tragically, was pronounced deceased upon his return to Camp Bastion.

Over the course of two years, Kyle faced a grueling journey, enduring a staggering forty surgical procedures. His remarkable courage was recognized when he received the Purple Heart and the esteemed Medal of Honor, which was presented to him by President Barack Obama.

Now, Kyle has transitioned into civilian life and is pursuing a degree at the University of South Carolina.
