Cleo has become quite the celebrity among the residents and workers of her high-rise building. With her fluffy white fur and endearing personality, she has managed to capture the hearts of many, including a construction crew that works several stories above her home.
Caelin Smith, Cleo’s devoted human companion, first noticed Cleo’s fascination with the construction workers about four months ago when she began working from home. From their cozy 15th-floor apartment, Smith often heard Cleo meowing curiously behind the blinds, seemingly drawn by something happening outside the window.
“I remember the first time I pulled open the blinds to see what Cleo was so interested in,” Smith recalled with a smile. “There she was, with the construction workers waving and interacting with her through the glass. “I make it a point to keep the blinds up so that Cleo can have a front-row seat to watch her ‘boyfriends’ work,” Smith chuckled affectionately. “It’s been heartwarming to witness the bond that has developed between Cleo and these hardworking individuals.”

“Electricians, plumbers, and even cable technicians have all received Cleo’s warm welcome,” Smith explained. “Living in our cozy 500-square-foot studio apartment, these interactions have become the highlight of Cleo’s city life. It’s as if she knows how to bring a touch of warmth and friendliness to every encounter.”
Despite the physical distance, the workers have come to anticipate seeing Cleo through the window each day, and her presence has become a source of joy amidst their demanding work schedules.
“Cleo truly embodies the spirit of what I call a ‘COVID kitty’,” Smith mused. “She thrives on companionship and absolutely detests being left alone. If I happen to be away for more than a couple of hours, she lets me know about it with her vocal protests!”
